I've been a bit distracted from posting lately. on the one hand, i'm sorry. on the other, thus far i've avoided posting in the sponsored theme flamewar. which is good.

It's a shame the whole debate went south. Scott, chris, HSO, mandarinmusing, and others turn out themes that make me wonder if i should give up web design, and leave it to the professionals. Their excellent designs, continuous support, and otherwise selfless behavior is the reason I originally posited that it was absurd to ban sponsored themes.

But not all sponsored themes are helmed by good people. there are themes that are so dispicable, that something needs to be done. I would agree that what's being done goes too far, but i'm not the one running the Theme Viewer, so it's not really my call.

Updates:

The Joshuaink design has been updated, to better support people who don't use widgets.

The widgetized Depo Clean theme has been updated, to fix issues with static front pages. Derek doesn't seem to be developing the theme anymore, so i may just port the whole thing to sandbox, since the markup is better, and I'd rather support code I know really well.

One major reason I haven't been posting is that I was working on designs for the sandbox designs competition, which closes tomorrow. There are some teaser thumbnails on my wordpress themes page, until the live preview goes, well, live.

Generally, I'd prefer if support questions were posted on the original blog post, so anyone else with the same issue can see that it's being worked on. If you do post in the wordpress support forums, please drop me an email with a link to the thread so i can post solutions or updates. wp-admin [at] archgfx [dot] net
