K2 Architects' Little Black Pearl Workshop Project incorporates an internally lit translucent 'pearl' in the center atrium. The Submit graphic was printed on 3-form Varia Digital.
The LBPW project called for a shining focal point above the atirum stairs. The Submit graphic was printed on 3-form Varia Digital, and attached to an aluminum frame. The final installation is lit from within.
After the image was rerendered and printed by 3-Form, it was necessary to use a water jet to cut the sheets into the tiles that would be attached to the frame. K2 created shop drawings, and ultimately the water jet drawings specifying both how each sheet should be cut, and where each tile belonged in the installation.
