as of thursday, i'm 27. which the wifest keeps reminding me is very old indeed.
I got fun geeky toys, though, so i don't mind. she bought me the weird opera dude from tokyoplastic v2, who joined my small
band of marauders collection hanging out under my monitor at work. since it seems that i'm going to wear the sysadmin hat again in the near future, i might as well be all the geek i can be.
she also bought me a dvd burner, which prompted me to open my computer for the first time in 9 months. Speaking of which, while i was in there, i finally unplugged the fried hard drive, allthough it took me two guesses to figure out which one it was (nothing in the BIOS screen for the rocketraid tells me which one failed).
my parents bought me the first left handed laser mouse, which i've been drooling over since they came out. I've been unable to convince myself i needed one badly enough to buy it, but it's one of those things i feel like i should support, since it's kind of a niche. then again, if dell and their cohorts shipped with symmetric mice instead of right handed ones, it wouldn't be such an issue.
i haven't loaded up unreal to really put the thing through its paces, but i did try out bryan's nyxsis-RO, which is one of the really gorgeous sandbox based sites that's popped up recently (c.f. avalonstar, horsepigcow, citizenagency):
sometime after the next version of wordpress is out and running properly on my server, i'll be putting up my own sandbox based design, because a) hAtom is an awesome idea b) that many CSS classes to me is like being a kid in a candy shop c) i'm really tired of how complicated my site is at the moment. there are too many things competing for your attention, and it's too difficult to write for this layout.
