before downloading mockingmusic's jesus playlist, a search of my itunes library revealed just 6 songs:
genesis - jesus he knows me (no mp3, because it's a terrible song that's inexplicably included on their platinum collection. i love old genesis, but the stuff they've put out since i've been aware of music, not so much.)
soundgarden - jesus christ pose (mentioned in comments on mocking music, not sure why they didn't include it)
medeski, martin, and wood - is there anybody here that love my jesus
modest mouse - jesus christ was an only child
glassjaw - trailer park jesus
tori amos - mrs. jesus.
I'm largely unamused by playlists that involve searching your itunes library for keywords. They catch long-winded instrumentals like MMW and Mogwai, but miss alternates for the name of god, like:
the song comes from a live, note-for-note cover of the entire Master of Puppets album. for 90% of the performance, James LaBrie is the _only_ difference to the original (there are some solos handled by keyboards that are intentionally different). on slower songs, he actually sounds pretty good.
Ultimately, a thematic playlist (a la tiny mix tapes) for 'Why I Don't Love jesus' would be far more interesting. since, despite 'trailer park jesus' being a great song, it has nothing to do with the man himself.
