apparently i was too quick to assume that we would be able to easily and smoothly transition into the apartment with the dishwasher. lakeview was apparently "just kidding" about letting us go month-to-month. so we'll need to sign another 6 month lease while we wait for our interview, and the subsequent delivery of the green card. seriously lame. if only A) it weren't such a pain to change addresses with immigration B) the lakeview branch of the USPS weren't so incapablle of properly forwarding mail.

that doesn't mean we're not going for the dishwasher, though. in an impressively financially optimistic move, we will also be signing the lease in bucktown. this means we will have to find a sublessor for our lakeview apartment in the next few months, but at least that means we get to show the apartment ourselves. this means appointments, a chance to clean beforehand, and all sorts of other wonderful things. not to mention gradually moving our stuff out of this apartment rather than having to shove it all in a moving van in one weekend.

in other news, i want to add my namme to the list of people who desperately want blogger to add a categories feature. c'mon, you know you all want it. livejournal has it, wordpress has it, movable type has it, give it to us!! for an example, check out jenn's awesome journal (right side link). i post about a lot of random things, and it would be nice to have some sort of organisation to it. that said, i am considering switching to wordpress, since there is a migration path for blogger and dotcomments, so that people could read the odd, old comments pat and ivonne used to leave,, as well as the ones that are currently on this blog.
