current tune: the arcade fire - rebellion (lies)
in all fairness, the arcade fire should have been on my top 5 albums. zoo hypothesis is the best album so far from tub ring, and the first to break free of bungle dependancies, but it's a weaker album.
funeral is a great album, similar to The Ugly Organ and You Fail Me. it's so well written, it's like dying everytime i listen to it. every passage is more heartwrenching and overwhelming than the last, and the album just builds until the end.
I've been feeling like a corporate zombee a lot at the new job, lately. with good reason, i've been to seminars on "contract documents as risk management", and drawn more cornices than in my entire time at K2.
today was a better day, though. we've been redesigning the entry drive for this project. it was amusing today, where my boss was wanting me to draw nice symmetric layouts, and i kept drawing stranded layouts, springing from one side, and splaying out towards the other.
it occurs to me that when they write my biography, K2 will have been a formative experience, where the new job will be where i learned the business end of things. but i can at least try to make things better. i don't think i'll get any projects for my portfolio here, but we'll see.
i'm trying to work on my portfolio for my website, but i'm still a lazy bastard. and it's hard to resist cuddling my wifest.
