current tune: nine inch nails - only
i'm just posting this here because it should be more obviously stated on illinois' website. and it certainly should have been explained when i was in school.
it _is_ possible to become a licensed architect in the state of illinois with a 4 year B.A. in Architecture degree (a pre-professional degree). until 2010.
It requires more training than a "professional" degree would, naturally.
1170 Training Units. Those units are to be _double_ the NCARB standard for units A, B, C, and D, plus the same 235 units in any area.
that's (2 x 465) + 235 = 1165. the other 5 units are tacked on to the 235 units in any area.
NCARB can't be bothered to have a separate section for pre-proffessional degrees, which leaves the matter up to illinois. illinois put David Brim in charge of it, and he can't be bothered to explain it.
