i finally have DSL again, after a long roundabout means of getting josh to by me a router to replace the one of mine that he's got.

that was a nice thing to come home to, after going off to madison over the weekend. we'd been on dial-up for a couple weeks, and while we were visiting some friends in wisconsin we borrowed their DSL, which was wonderful.

actually, the whole trip was pretty damn good, we got to see michael moore speak at UW madison, and we saw team america, which was funny as hell.

i'm thinking of (gasp) switching back to windows. Windows Media Center Edition 2005 just came out, and fast on it's heels, the xbox extender which is the real reason i want it, since it make the xbox do everything i would want out of a mod, without actual soldering. and i've discovered that windows isn't that bad, if you're running a legit version of xp, and you don't install bunches of freeware/shareware. (by bunches, i mean any). the other thing is that all the really cool bits of windows get released seperately, so you have to watch for all the poowertoys, and new releases, and free shit from MSDN. so hopefully in like a month, i'll be back on windows, once i can afford it.

things have been up in the air since K2 bounced my paycheck. apparently that's a federal offence. if they do it again, i'll look into pressing charges. grrr.
