about the name
if you know me in the real world, you know me as adam. sunburntkamel is the name i use everywhere on the internet, not because it means anything, but because it's unique and recognizable. archGFX is the brand name i use for all design endeavors. it also includes collaborative work, which is why i don't just use My Real Name.
what i do
i'm an architect. not licensed yet, but getting there. I do graphic and web design for fun, in my free time. I do architectural rendering and modeling, and occasionally get paid for it. These require some skill in AutoCAD/ArchiCAD, Photoshop/GIMP, Softimage | XSI, and an eye for what's ugly or not.
about the blog
i started this blog my last year of architecture school, since then i’ve gone to work for architects, occasionally been made ad-hoc sysadmin, married a (canadian) girl i met on the internets, who’s gone vegan, and taken me along.
about the architecture
I went to UIC for undergrad, where i studied landscape urbanism under Sara Dunn, and digital media under Ammar Elouini. I then went to work at K2 architects, where I stayed for 3 years.
